MRIP Summary

The Michigan Resource Inventory Program (MRIP) has been developed within the Land and Water Management Division, Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). The program was established pursuant to the Michigan Resource Inventory Act, 1979 PA 204. The purpose of the statute was to create a statewide computerized database of information pertinent to land utilization, management, and resource protection activities. This effort is alternately known as the Michigan Resource Information System (MIRIS).

MRIP Datasets and Resources

A considerable amount of information has been collected and/or distributed through the Michigan Resource Inventory Program's Michigan Resource Information System (MIRIS). MIRIS utilizes a computer-aided mapping system to facilitate storage and retrieval of data. Information from the system is available as either paper maps or digital copy.
