Foreword
This is the third version of this directory compiled by the UK Global Environmental Research (GER) Office who gratefully acknowledge the cooperation of the international contact points listed.
Through summaries of the key programmes, organisations and agencies, the directory provides some insights into the international effort and activities relevant to global environmental research.
The diagram in the directory gives some indication of the linkages within and between the major international initiatives, programmes and organisations. The interactions and connections indicated show only the formal associations and it should be remembered that there are many additional informal associations via discipline or research community based linkages and networks.
The aims and objectives, mission statements and contact points within the directory will change over time and it will be amended and updated on a regular basis. If you have any additions, queries or suggested amendments please do not hesitate to contact us at the address below.
