ACCOUNTANTS' COMPILATION REPORT

Alternative Fluorocarbons Environmental Acceptability Study

In connection with the research program being conducted by the Alternative Fluorocarbons Environmental Acceptability Study, we have, at your request, compiled the following schedules of production and sales data for CFC-113, CFC-114 and CFC-115 from responses furnished to us by participating companies. The accompanying notes are an integral part of this report.

Schedule 1

- Listing of Reporting Companies

Schedule 2

- Total Production of CFC-113, CFC-114 and CFC-115 on a Cumulative Basis Through 1979 from Reporting Companies

Schedule 3

- Total Production of CFC-113, CFC-114 and CFC-115 on an Annual Basis for the Period 1980 Through 1992 from Reporting Companies

Schedule 4

- Estimated Error in Total Production of CFC-113, CFC-114 and CFC-115 from 1980 Through 1992 Applying the Submitted Level of Error from Reporting Companies

Schedule 5

- Total CFC-113 Sales by Category for the Years 1980 Through 1992 from Reporting Companies

Schedule 6

- Total CFC-114 Sales by Category for the Years 1980 Through 1992 from Reporting Companies

Schedule 7

- Total CFC- 115 Sales by Category for the Years 1980 Through 1992 from Reporting Companies

Schedule 8

- Total CFC-113, CFC-114 and CFC-115 Sales by Hemisphere for the Period 1980 Through 1992 from Reporting Companies

We have compiled these tabulations from questionnaires submitted directly to us from the chemical manufacturers solicited by the Alternative Fluorocarbons Environmental Acceptability Study. We made no attempt to verify independently the information submitted in the questionnaires.

Notes to Production and Sales of Chlorofluorocarbons 113, 114 and 115

Note 1

Participants

Beginning in 1983 and ending in 1986, the production and sales data of Navin Fluorine Industries (India) are included in this report. Chemiewerke Nünchritz GmbH (Germany) and its subsidiary reported data for the first time in 1990. Prior production by this company is not included in this report.

Note 2

Reported Production Amounts

These amounts exclude any production of a product used as an intermediate for chemical or plastic production.

Reported production amounts are determined by adding opening inventory, production and purchases from co-producers and subtracting sales to co-producers, closing inventory and amounts used or sold for chemical intermediates. The resulting figure is equal to sales.

Note 3

Method of Error Calculation

Estimated error was calculated using the square root of the sum of the squares of the estimated error for each respondent.
