Stakeholder Profile: New York City Borough of Queens

The Borough of Queens connects with Jamaica Bay via a magnificent expanse of shoreline. The bay's significance is highlighted by its potential to directlly impact the bordering waterfront communities and neighborhoods of Community Boards 10, 13, and 14. Forestalling beach erosion, flooding and loss of wetlands are crucial priorities for the Queens Borough President, requiring long term solutions and cooperative efforts of all levels of government.

Facilitating the delivery of major sewer and infrastructure projects for Queens constituents has expanded the storm water removal system, improved drainage and eliminated flooding that would have an impact on Jamaica Bay. We continue to monitor the progress of Queens infrastructure projects currently in design and construction to make certain that these improvements are delivered on schedule.
