Electronic Bookshelf

The CIESIN Electronic Bookshelf provides the infrastructure for sharing of a unique set of information resources among global environmental change researchers that are not readily available through other means. The Electronic Bookshelf provides access to reports, working papers, and other background information about a variety of organizations, including the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change Programme (HDP) of the International Social Science Council, the SysTem for Analysis, Research, and Training (START) of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Program (IGBP), the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), and the Canadian Global Change Program (CGCP). The Organizational Index lists the organizations for which information is available. The Electronic Bookshelf also contains several Newsletters and Global Change Declarations.

All of these materials, which are primarily textual in nature, can be accessed via File Transfer Protocol (FTP), electronic mail (available to users of services such as Omnet, Compuserve, Fidonet, and Bitnet), or the CIESIN Gopher, under CIESIN Kiosk.

CIESIN does not necessarily review, analyze, edit, verify, sponsor, approve, or endorse the contents of materials shared in the Kiosk. The opinions and views expressed in Kiosk materials are those of the authors and not necessarily represent those of CIESIN.
